The following day when they go their own way, they're still shrouded in the manifestation they have experienced , a contentness looming over them,yet both eager to return in a short time to be together, not forseeing the eclipse of misfortune, nor that life beneath the sun is a harpischord accompanied by a sad violin.

Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpi give totally believable and winning performances in this remarkably old fashioned tale of spur of the moment romance given a modern uplift when two souls at a crossroads in their lives decide to share an unscheduled day & night in Vienna after casually meeting on a train in Europe. Gorgeous cinematography enhances this bittersweet story of lost chances and destiny as the couple glides moment to moment with some really fascinating ruminations on life and love. Very little in the way of plot but the characterizations are incredibly well-wrought and almost hypnotic from first frame to fade out.
